Bridge Program:
From Behavior Consultant to BCBA

ab group img

The Behavior Consultant role is designed to partner with families, children, and adults to provide behavior consultation services in accordance with 460 IAC in a supportive environment. Sessions are held in a clinic setting, the community, or an individual’s home. The Behavior Consultant completes assessments, behavior support plans, and trains Direct Support Professionals (DSP) and family members to implement plans. Managing a case load and reporting of hours, observations, and plan fulfillment under the waiver program requires a Master’s degree in clinical psychology, counseling psychology, school psychology, or another applied health service area of psychology, special education, or social work. AccessAbilities welcomes new graduates and experienced professionals driven to empower individuals to reach optimal independence.

For those seeking their BCBA certification, the Behavior Consultant role may be your dream job! As you complete your master’s program and work to fulfill your supervised fieldwork, you can experience the best of both worlds! Manage a caseload and support a team of Direct Support Professionals, be responsible for assessments and behavior support plans, build your communication skills with families, and earn professional level compensation and benefits! AccessAbilities will even provide you with your supervised hours for no charge. After you pass your exam, you can transition into your new role as BCBA with AccessAbilities and enjoy industry-leading benefits.
